Vigolana: Autumn full of…

Products, sports and colours on the Vigolana Plateau!
A vivid territory, full of people and associations that work to enhance the beauties of their Plateau: they let the tourist get in touch with what living on the Vigolana Plateau looks like.

The Trophy Una cima per gli amici di Vigolo Vattaro will take place on Sunday 30th September (9km and 1.200m difference in height starting in Vigolo Vattaro and going up to Peak Ceriola) and the Trophy Paludei will take place on Sunday 14th October (14km and 900m difference in height from Mattarello up to Paludei Hut).

Saturday 13th October there will be the completely renewed edition of Vigolana Trail, the Autumn trail: Autumn, the best season to enjoy the variety of colours and sceneries on the Plateau.

Three different routes that suit anybody: Vigolana Marathon Trail (42km), Vigolana Half Marathon Trail (21km) and Vigolana Easy Trail (12km). These routes won’t reach the highest peaks of the Vigolana Massif, but you will be able to run on raw roads through the rich woods of the Plateau enjoying its bright colours. Big news of this trail is the fact that it will reach the shores of Lake Caldonazzo: you will cover the “miners’ path” going down from the Vigolana Plateau to Calceranica.

But with all these different kinds of sports you will surely need a bit of restoration: local products festivals liven up autumn: festivals with pears and chestnuts are the main ones.

Festa della Pera (Pear Festival) will be 6th October in Vattaro: lots of stands with local products and handcraft objects, pear menu, naturalistic walk to the pear garden, exhibitions and music.
21st and 22nd October will be the turn of the Festa della Castagna (Chestunt festival) in Centa San Nicolò with lots of activities both for children and adults: workshops, gastronomic walks, typical chestnut menu, music and delicious roasted chestnuts.
From 12th October to 11th November five restaurants and holiday farms on the Vigolana Plateau (Agritur Martinelli, Ristorante al Bosco, Ristorante Sindech, Ristorante Campregheri e Rifugio Casarota) will propose you Sapori d’Autunno, a chestnut based menu, from starter to dessert.
